The Watershed Institute (TWI), Tulpehaking Nature Center (TNC), and Mercer County Park Commission (which manages TNC) will collaborate on the fourth annual Trenton River Days Festival to be held at South Riverwalk Park in Trenton.

Enjoy exhibits and games designed to spur curiosity and interest about the Delaware River and the importance of caring for it. Water activities will include canoeing on the pond, and a naturalist-led pontoon boat tour of the Delaware River and a flyfishing demonstration. We will provide information about the Swim-to-Row Program, offered by the Park Commission, local YMCAs and the Princeton National Rowing Association. The PNRA brings a crew shell and rowing machines for hands-on engagement.

Exhibits provided by The Watershed Institute, Tulpehaking Nature Center and others include include a touch-tank with live fish, nature-based crafts, information about the programs and services of the partners, as well as other community-based non-profits. Non-profits and social service agencies will provide timely and helpful information to participants, which in the past, have included census workers, a mobile COVID-vaccination unit, and financial resources for home heating. The Latin American Legal Defense and Education Fund, a local Hispanic organization, will provide translation services. Music will include a live children’s orchestra, professional bands and entertainers and a DJ. Howell Living Farms horse-drawn carriage will transport attendees to and from the pontoon bouts. Mercer County Park farms will also provide free produce. In order to encourage visitation at each exhibit, attendees are asked to get their ‘passport booklet’ stamped to verify they visited the exhibits. Once the booklet has a certain number of stamps, it entitles the bearer to a free food coupon!
