Schuylkill Environmental Career Online (SECO) Training is a 6-session virtual course for high school and college students. The online training will run over Zoom every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. from Feb. 3, 2021 to March 10, 2020.

  • Gain transferable and essential professional skills, such as resume building and cover letter writing.
  • Acquire and learn desirable skills and tools needed to enter the environmental career field.
  • Learn about emerging environmental issues, such as microplastics and harmful algal blooms.
  • Connect and network with peers and other young professionals.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
A new topic relating to environmental science and entering the work force will be discussed each week with follow-up activities to connect discussions to the real world. After each 1-hour session, participants will be asked to complete a short assignment on their own. The objective of this program is to better prepare students and emerging professionals for their future career. Successful participants who attend each session and complete all the required materials will receive a certificate of completion.
The SECO program has been modified to run virtually and continue to engage high school and college students.
