“Planting Parties” will be designed to build community while highlighting the many valuable services provided by native plants to birds and people such as keeping our water clean by reducing stormwater runoff and streambank erosion, and providing critical food sources for birds. People will be encouraged to host Planting Parties with friends at home and in their communities. Party hosts will be asked to register (though not mandatory) and will have the option to download planting tips and talking points to help their party guests learn while they sow. The John James Audubon Center (JJAC) will also host a Planting Party, extending an invitation to community partners and leaders, as well as 3,000 members. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.
