Metal Forging

Saturday, January 25th 2020

10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Saturday, January 25th 2020 & Thursday, December 26th 2019

10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Throughout history, forging has been one of the cornerstones of human development. As it relates to boat and ship construction, the smith and their forge play a key role in the smallest nail and the broadest axe. The ability to forge hardware and cutting tools has taken us from forming a basic log canoe with crude stone tools and fire to the most complex British ship of the line. Join us in our Workshop on the Water on either Saturday, January 25 or Sunday, January 26 for a daylong introduction to an age-old trade where you will gain the knowledge and skill necessary to forge metal on your own, and take home your own forged creation. Materials and necessary tools are included.
